Harvey,

I just got off the phone with A/S technical support
who told me that the area around the rear bumper is
not designed to be water tight.  It is not unusual to
find occasional water that comes from rain or trailer
washing in that underbelly area.  It will drain out
when the trailer is tipped slightly nose down.  He
suggested that I wash the trailer with the nose tipped
up and then lower it to drain any water that may
accumulate in that rear panel.  He also noted that
because of previous problems with floor rot and
leakage, newer A/S's are designed to port water leaks
down the side walls into the underbelly area where it
will dispurse via the underbelly edges and seams of
the underbelly panels.  I'm not sure how they do this
since the video I have showing construction techniques
doesn't address this, but on the other hand I don't
think they would want the video to tell you that the
trailer can leak. 

An interesting tidbit on another vein was my
discussion with him regarding a fallen gasket that
attaches to the rear sides of the refrigerator.  He
noted that reports of marginal cooling performance on
older A/S refrigerators may be due to the failure of
these soft foam gaskets.  They are designed to keep
the heat in the outside compartment from getting to
the outside side walls of the refrigerator.  If these
gaskets fail, the cooling capacity of the fridge will
be negatively affected and energy use will rise.  He
said it will be evident when you get into some really
hot climate conditions.  

He obviously suggested that I get mine repaired.
