Yes there is a cable linking the controller to the brake pedal connected
to what is called the "control Module" which is spring loaded.

the Ultima is connected with 3 wires

white = ground
red = battery
blue = trailer brakes

There is a cable guide which you attach at the bottom of your dash, or
even under the dash, in a straight line to the pedal. There is enough
length of cable so the controller box can then be placed to either side
in a convenient location. The cable is very efficient and slides nicely.

The more pressure on the brake - the more voltage delivered to the
trailer brakes. There is a manual override button as well.

You adjust the controller once for you rig and then rarely if ever need
to adjust it again.

The tow vehicle and trailer behave as one unit, in the city, on the
highway, anyone can take the wheel and feel comfortable with the brakes.

Over the last three years the Jordan company has made improvements and
upgraded my unit at no charge, they stand behind their product.
