An advantage of 2 meter Ham radio is that it is FM, not subject to a lot
of static and noise.  CB is AM and IS subject to static and noise.
During stormy weather, such as tornado season in the midwest you will
find "Storm Warning Nets" on local repeaters.  You can keep track of
weather and funnel sightings on the network, and static is not a
problem.  CB has its place, but during a storm static will wipe it out.
