On my first (SOB) rig I used the freezer compartment "floor".  I got 
the fridge set as true as possible and installed the levels on the coach
exterior based on that.  Never rolled out of bed once, so I guess the
coach was still close enough for jazz.

So far on the Airstream I've been relying on the previously (factory?)
installed bubblizers without problem.

I prefer the large levels as they are easier to see through the rear
window when spotting the unit in a site.  Besides they work better with
my geriatric hyperopia. (e.g. At my age, if it's in reach it's out of
site.)  ;^)>
