 It depends on the style of filler that you have on the outside of your
trailer:

Our '68 G.T. had what looked like a filler neck sticking out, with a
screw-on cap. Inside the trailer, that aluminum fitting was connected to
the tank with a short piece of tubing/hose. Even if the seal around the
neck (where it fastens to the trailer) was leaky, no outside water would
get into the tank. It WOULD run inside and rot the floor, however.

The Avion has a plastic fitting that pulls out, much like a minature
'drawer'. I can see that thing leaking outside water into the tank under
certain failure conditions.

FWIW: I prefer the filler neck style, I don't much care for plastic.
