I don't believe I said it was the worst travel spot... hardly, it's one of
the loveliest parks I've stayed at anywhere. This reminds me of that game we
played as kids...... "telephone"
<Although we have voted
to get another line for net purposes at the TOP, it hasn't been
accomplished ye>>
If that is true, I'm delighted!!! I heard they voted it down...from more
than one source.
< Inclusive in this is the "slow" lines which would make a download that you
or I could accomplish very quickly, take forever there. Some people that use
the net like you or I,would be thoughtful, I'm sure, in that they would
download everything, then go read, and respond, then come back and reconnect
to send.>
As there are no local natonawide servers in Helen I am sure that most people
download and get right off...... as we have to pay when we are online....
<<Others are not quite that humanistic in their
actions. There was an example of this just the other day, when, no one could
get the phones to work A woman, not a member but a visiting Airstreamer,
had, without asking anyone, unplugged the phone in the game room, and had
been on the net over an hour. She was very upset when asked to cease. >>
HELLO!!! If there was a note posted saying it isn't a computer line...I did
the same thing... there's a jack with no phone..looks like a computer
jack......... why would she think that she was interfering with anyone?
Every other campground she has ever stayed in most likely has a computer
line. It's the 21st century!!!
I wonder how she was asked to cease..... talk about two sides to every
story...... I would like to hear hers.
<< Dave, this is the only way we have to communicate there. We have no cell
phone capability, >>
All the more reason for people to have to email.
What is the big deal? Get a data port on the payphone... then everyone is
happy and if no one is waiting the online people can stay on as long as they
want and calls can still go in and out on the TOG phone.
This is such a non problem..... every other campground, including Airstream
Parks have figured it out...... the Lacey WA Airstream Park has 2 computer
lines....here at the KOA we have 24 hour computer access in the laundry
room..... very nice, much appreciated. The line is set up to do 800#s or
local calls only.....
I would have addressed this to the replyer, but the post wasn't signed and
had no email return address.
