Re: [A/S] Aluminum wiring
I just checked my '68 Caravel in the electrical entrance compartment, I
see the branch circuit wires are labeled aluminum. So I HAVE WORK to do.
I found this URL interesting:
http://www.wcghome.com/Repairing%20Aluminum%20Wiring.htm
It says that the CO/ALR receptacles and switches don't always work well,
so the only solution the CPSC recommends is replacing the aluminum wire
with copper or maybe pigtailing with the AMP crimp pigtail and tools.
I'm planning to leave on a trip in cool weather tomorrow evening. I'll
cobble some copper for the heater and not use the aluminum for a heavy
load.
