Chris,
 I frankly don't see the difference. The relief valve will open only
under abnormal conditions:

1. The tank is in a fire or other severe overheating situation. That
isn't what we're talking about here.

2. The tank is overfilled when cool, then exposed to warmer
temperatures. If that happens, it'll vent liquid even if the tank is
upright. Of course, the venting takes place at a slow-enough rate that
the propane gasifies as it's released, so you don't really see liquid
squirting out.

If you wish to continue the discussion, it'll have to be off-list, as
I'm leaving for a 10-day vacation and will be unsubsribing from all
