Re: [a/s] Tow Vehicles

Most recent model cars are not suitable (IMHO) for pulling large trailers.
In earlier years, the pre '75 Caddys, Chryslers, Buicks, Mercurys etc. had
adequate power and weight and wheel-base length to handle most any trailer
manufactured at that time. But now, with 31' & 34' units on the road, a 3/4
T or heavier truck (pickup) is needed to have a reasonable margin of safety.
Take some test rides in various models. You may be surprised at how
comfortable they ride. Dealers usually have tow capacity ratings and many
have experience to guide you in making a selection. The 3/4 T
Surburban/Yukon (full size) or Expedition is very popular as a tow vehicle,
as well as the 3/4 or 1 T pickup with Club Cab or Crew Cab. Please don't
scrimp on your selection. You will be spending a lot of time in this unit
and we want you to be safe. Good luck.............
