Re: [a/s] Tow Vehicles

I am sure you will get lots of opinions. I am willing to bet most of the
opinions you get will be recommendations consistent with what the
recommender currently owns.

Your best bet is to try and get "arms length" information. That is to say
information from people with no axe to grind. That may be easier said than
done. The main thing you might wish to be wary of is the scare approach.
Some will say unless you use a "so and so" you will be unsafe. That may or
may not be so. Some people just like to ride in very big powerful trucks
and don't mind the expense. Others may try to get away with the least
expensive option possible and have been lucky in that they have had no
problems. Others, of course, may have a vehicle that beautifully suits
their needs.

So what you will have to do is find out all you can, objectively, and in the
end make up your own mind.

I wish you well. Most of us have been through this and I would venture to
say most of us are happy with our choices. And, just to make life really
difficult, you'll find that these choices range from front wheel drive
sedans (yes you read this correctly, front wheel) to very heavy duty rear
wheel drive trucks.

I realize this is not what you wanted to read. You probably wanted to know
what you should do. I for one am not going to tell you because what works
for me may not work for you. But even more importantly, the largest trailer
I ever towed is 29' a full 5 feet shorter and considerably lighter than your
34 footer. Consequently, I am not in a good position to make a
recommendation.

But who knows maybe the 34' experienced people will be able to provided
useful information. I hope so.
