I have found the uncoupling question interesting.  At first I did not
understand the problem, but then someone explained.  What do you do if your
trailer catches on fire and you want to save the tow vehicle?  Good
question.

Perhaps we ought to devote as much attention to issues related to preventing
fires and to putting them out.

First rule of towing.  Turn off propane at the tanks.  Other rules.  Make
sure all inside electricity is turned off.   Second rule is make sure the
trailer brakes are in first rate condition. There are three more rules.  1.
Carry a fire extinguisher in the trailer.  2. Carry a fire extinguisher in
the car.  3. Carry an extra fire extinguisher in case one of the first two
are not enough.

Pay attention to the trailer in your rear view mirror and pay attention to
possible signals from other drivers as they pass you.  Where there is smoke
there is fire.  You may see the smoke as will other drivers on the road near
you.

OK folks this is a start.  I am willing to bet that others can provide
additional advice to make sure we don't loose our Airstreams and tow
vehicles to fire.
