I think it means the prongs at the hinge end of the folding cover have been
bent.  My wife did that to the one in our motorhome by forcing the cover shut
instead of first pulling it upward.  I've tried to straighten the prongs again
so the cover worked properly, but was only partly successful.  It still won't
stand up straight as it used to, but flops back against the spice rack.  I can
live with that, but it's not nice.  I suspect the only real remedy would be to
replace the cover, if not the entire stove.  The hinge pins are probably bent as
well.  The left-side hinge pin on ours has disappeared altogether, and I can
neither find the loose piece nor figure out how and where it was attached.
