Re: [a/s] Batteries
In my particular case (1978 Argosy motor home) things are severely constrained
by the size of the battery compartment, there is no room to put anything bigger
in there and the compartment is reached via a hatch in the outside skin just
underneath the driver's seat ... so changing that setup would require building a
new battery compartment somewhere (and not easy to find a place, there isn't
much spare space in that unit) and rewiring everything. I mentioned my previous
batteries (both coach and vehicle) were fried by a brand new GM-installed
alternator ... so GM warranty bit the bullet and bought me new Delco batteries
as well as a new alternator and the labor to install all of that ... the new
coach deep cycle battery is a Delco Voyager and so far it has been impressive,
much better capacity than anything I have previously installed, for the same
physical size, unless I do something stupid (like leaving a major light burning
when I go out to dinner) I can now get through a night without having the
battery go flat ...
