Grinding works poorly on aluminum because the metal melts. A dremel is
kind of fast for using a milling cutter, though one of the round cutters
just the diameter of the pop rivet applied to the center of the rivet
should do minimal damage to the sheets while separating head from stem.
A slow speed drill will do that well also. For domed rivets this means
accurately center punching the rivet head. Use a short drill bit for
better control, like the spotting drills made for CNC machines.
