Re: [VAC] Your Y2K Directory.

Jim,
I'm not Bill, but I'll take a stab at your questions:

The freshwater pump has a discharge valve builtin to it by design that
prevents water from backing up into the freshwater tank when you're
connected to city water.

The freshwater pump pressurizes the system just like the city water
connection does and is necessary to fill the water heater. Turn on the
pump, let it build pressure, then open a hot water faucet until the air
is dispelled and only water comes out.

If you look closely at your sewer discharge connection, you'll see where
the grey water line comes into the side of it, just after the dump
valve. If you attach a hose to the discharge connection and run water in
the sink, lav, or shower, you'll see the discharge from that hose. If
you CAP the discharge connection and OPEN the dump valve, the grey water
will back up into the black tank. This works fine where you can't dump
the grey water on the ground, with a couple of caveats: you'll fill the
black tank fairly quickly, and you need to be careful when dumping the
tank. First, close the dump valve, then place a bucket under the
connection, THEN remove the cap. You'll get a couple of quarts of water
and can then connect your dump hose and finish the dumping procedure.
