My Suburban had a 7-way round, while my trailer has a 7-way flat.  I have a 
short adaptor that fits between the two.  My free advice would be "don't do 
anything *short* of using a test light and a meter.  Trace everything out 
(twice, at least) and after wiring, have someone else check that you've not 
gotten clockwise and counter-clockwise interchanged.  Trust me, you won't 
be sorry (as I was).  It's possible to cause yourself some grief if you 
make the connections incorrectly (as I did).
