This trick might work on your Caravel.  On my Avion, someone had drilled
holes through the plywood bottom of the bed/seat into the cabinet frame and
inserted machine screws to keep it from sliding.  They had pieces of string
tied to them to pull them out with when ready to open the bed.

I improved on this by buying a pair of pins (I think they were called "lynch
pins" but I'm not sure) at Ace Hardware.  They have rings through the ends
to pull them out with, and they have spring-loaded detents near the bottom
to keep them from sliding out.  Works great.  From what I remember of my
Caravel, something like this could work on yours.

Another possible remedy is to use screw hooks and eyes under the plywood
board, but I like the pins better.
