Hi Bill,
Not every Airstream dealer has a good repair shop. If you can find one
handy and it seems OK then go for it. But I had very good luck with a
regular RV place back in MA. None of the systems in an Airstream are any
different than other RV's. If you need work on the skin, doors
andwindows, you will need a dealer, although \airplane repair shops can
do the skin work.
One important safety tip :
Airstream axles are NOT where to put a jack !!! Underneath your trailer
is a square patch, usually a little ahead of the wheel (I think ) that
is the only safe place to put a jack. Otherwise the jack will go right
through the skin on the bottom !!! Be especially careful at tire places
populated by young men who know everything.
