[A/S] restore 1961 31' as soverign

hi. please help a newcomer plan a restoration. 8-)

ive just been given a 1961 airstream 31' soverign in good?? shape that 
has been sitting for about 20 years , used as a weekend lake cabin. 
 needs airconditioner fixed, battery ststem restored/replaced/ 
generator installed/ plumbing fittings checked. must an airstream 
dealer do these things or most any rv dealer??

i live in morganton nc and the trailer is in tuscaloosa al. 

i plan to 
1-get new tires and get the axle/bearings checked before interstate 
towing. 
2-get dodge van checked out by nc airstream dealer for towing with as 
towbars.
before bringing it to nc to restore. what am i forgetting??

is there a good company in alabama/georgia/south/north carolina to 
help with a budget restoration?

is there a book/books i should buy?
