Exactly.  I adopted Hunter's system, and have used it happily.  I got a 
GPS for Christmas and I am very hesitant to use it while driving.  I 
know my laptop is an attention vortex anyway, and am afraid that the 
screen will not be in the right place in my trifocals.  I might be 
happier with a dash mounted one, but if it's information isn't any 
better than Delorme /Streets and Trips, I don't see depending on it. And 
as for the idea of having it actually talk to me...yikes.  I am going to 
try it out around town and see.  I am a gaget-technology nut, but need 
all my attention on the road and the perils thereon.
