RE: [A/S] Questions on options

<<elh3946 asked "On Airstream's Specification sheet, one of the options is
listed as "Pre-wire for portable satellite dish." I take this to mean that
Airstream doesn't -- or won't -- install a roof-mounted dish. Has anyone had
a roof-mounted domed satellite dish installed (or any type of TV satellite
dish, for that matter)">>

I had my local A/S dealer install an automatic Wingard dish several weeks
ago and I'm really happy with it so far. Like Hunter, the wires go down the
fridge vent on the roof and then sideways behind the cabinetry to the
control mechanism(s) in the cabinet over the TV. He then ran the co-ax down
thru the wall to the factory installed TV hookup point under the TV, thus no
exposed wiring. I like this dish - I'm thinking its fairly tried & true
technology and should be dependable & long lasting. Personally, I don't like
the look of the large bubble of the domed version on top of my trailer and
my dish is virtually invisible on my roof when in the "park" position.
