Re: [A/S] Winterizing
It is all not that hard.... Go to your dealer or some place you trust
even Camping World.
Have them Install the winterizing bypass valves for your pump and hot
water heater.
Next have them Show you how it all works. Don't forget to open the
outside drain valve on your water heater before you operate the bypass
valves. Open a hot water sink valve and let it drain for half a day.
Place all your winterizing valves in the winter position get a 3 to 5
gallon CLEAN bucket with good lid. add about 3 or 4 gallons of PINK RV
Antifreeze to the bucket. Place your short tube from the pumps
winterizing valve into the bottom of the bucket and turn on your pump.
Start in the back with the toilet and press the pedal until Pink water
comes out. Next go to each valve in your sinks and shower running
water from both hot and cold until pink comes out. Finish with the
Kitchen sink so you see pink. Doing it this way you will not only
protect your pumps and pips but also the drain traps will not freeze.
What little water that is left in your holding tank , after you drain
it, will not hurt the tank when it freezes. The reason is that it will
just expand up into the empty part of the tank. The same with your hot
water tank. You do not have to Blow it out.
Turn off your pump and go sit by the fire.
Thank you
