    Nonsense.  I've had two Suburbans, a 1984 and a 1999, both 3/4  ton 
gas engines.  Both were fine tow vehicles for my 29' Excella, weighing 
in at about 8,000 lb.  Sure, it slowed down on steep hills, and I got 
only about 8 mpg towing (Jane did better than me; she always does).  I 
traded my 1999 in on a 2005 Silverado 3/4 ton 4X4 Diesel because I 
wanted a 4X4, not because the Suburban was not an adequate tower.
