Paul - As a fellow parrot head, I've upgraded from a 1965 24' 
Tradewind to a 1991 34' Classic Limited (narrow Body)

While the narrow is fine I would have preferred the more modern wide 
body.  That having been said, the extra 3' means more room if you 
entertain, and I can have my full size Italian leather 
rocker/recliner and ottoman on board with plenty of room to walk 
around to the dinning table and sofa in front.   And I still have the 
full dinette for my office/work area.   The extra 3' means more room, 
more storage and more to clean :)  Since I'm mostly stationary the 
extra room comes in handy.

Towing the three axle is sooooo much easier than a one or two axle 
unit and backing by myself is a breeze.
Toad is a 2000 Excursion V-10 w/Hensley.  I've towed the 34' Limited 
for over 100,000 miles the last 6 years full timing and never had a 
problem.  Nice feature of the three axle is when I lost two tires on 
the same side at the same time (road construction debris) I was able 
to safely get to a tire dealer with out any damage or accident.

Several friends who have the 31' Excella 1000 lost the dinette or 
writing table and many only have two closet doors not three like the 
34' classic.

There is no problem fitting into small camp spaces with the 34', it 
fits in many state and county camp grounds that advertise for small rigs only.

My next upgrade will be a used 2000-2001 34' Classic with the couch 
slide out.  Lots more room.  Wish A/S was still making the couch slide.
