RE: [A/S] The Ideal Airstream...
"Is the 34 Classic really that much better to own
than the 31 Classic ?? ..is the extra 3 ft
worth it...given that most of our time will be at the RV Resort & not
travelling ??"
Paul - It's scary how many times you hear of Airstreamers wanting to upgrade
their trailers for larger more comfortable room space. Gets very expensive.
I'd suggest you make the effort to find and tour the trailers you are
considering, to get the feel of both. Towing & tow vehicle considerations
between both sizes are pretty much the same. Then do some serious thinking
on what you & your wife want and need to make yourselves comfortable.
To the List - I saw a VERY UNIQUE A/S this week - a 34 footer where the
front was configured with a computer desk to one side and an electric
"fireplace" in the center!! Looked for all the world like a small'ish
home-style propane-fired fireplace and the owner said it was really good at
keeping the trailer comfortable even in freezing conditions. Above the
fireplace was a pretty large TV. They had a fabric 'love seat' size sofa
against the street side wall & leather recliner (for a desk chair - not sure
how much they used this desk) and TV watching. No dinette, instead another
sofa in the slide. Eating was done from stools located by a food "bar" off
the kitchen. Front and rear ac's. The rest of the trailer was pretty much
standard (split bath & center queen). I thought the trailer was really cool
(lots of storage!!) and the owners loved it. The trailer was at the dealer's
because of "ceiling droop" in the bedroom and above the slide.
