Re: [A/S] Re: Miswired F250 to '69 Sovereign

I would like to throw in 2cents worth as I'm own an '01 F-250. One problem I've had is I
would have maybe one side doesn't work on trailer. I test with a 12v tester (the knd that
looks like an ice pick with a wire out the handle with a clip. Turn what light i'm having
trouble with and go from lug to lug on the truck. If I get nothing there, I go to that
fuse on the panel under the dash. There can be a blown fuse and the light still work on
the truck. There are certain fuses for towing uses only. What I'm saying is the tail light
on the truck might work you get no fire to the towing lights. I have a small trailer now
that has a short somewhere. Every time I hook it up it blows a towing fuse.
One other tidbit, I went to what is called Hitches, Etc in the area and asked for a
male end plug, they brought the truck end. Seems that is considered the male end because
it has the male spades. First time I had heard it that way. Probably won't solve your
dilema, but check out the fuse deal. The two I've dealt with are #'s 6 & 38.

Appreciate the info, and clarification. I have always had a problem
with gaining the perspective of direction to be looking from. So in
this case: if I am standing at the back of my truck and have some one
else open the little flap that covers the plug in female receiver it
would be as you described, on a clock face, starting with 1 o'clock
(GREEN) about 4 o'clock (RED) about 6 o'clock (WHITE) about 8 o'clock
(BLUE) about 10 o'clock (BROWN) and about 11 (BLACK)

Then if I turn around and hold the male plugin and look with the same
clock face the colors would be the same but going counterclockwise.
Like 1 o'clock BLK, then BRN, then BLUE, then WHITE, then RED, then GREEN

Does that sound about right.
