sorry, you need to read what you just wrote.
you said your Denali got 10.8mpg
then you said your son's diesel got 15.5mpg for the same trip
(with a SOB which means it was not streamlined like an Airstream).
if your son had been pulling your Classic, he would have done even better.
point is, your statement of
>but the additional up front cost of $65-7500 and no savings in fuel costs
holds no water. I have driven and pulled with gas and diesel, classics only and
boat trailers. I think that I have the absolutely most perfect tow vehicle ever
made --- the Ford Excursion. I just wish I had the money to put another one on
blocks and store it for about 10 yrs.<G>. It will be about two years before
they bring out the STRETCHED Exhibition (same length as the Excursion but
LIGHTER, WEAKER, much more POC than this F250 SuperDuty with a station wagon
body on it that I have now. If you can find one still, GO BUY IT!!! IN DIESEL
of course.
I really look forward to Alaska and the Canadian Rockies pulling the trailer
with that Excursion. Right now, I am selling off collections of firearms,
buckles, yada to pay off credit cards, and to save up the $10,000 that I want to
leave town with for this trip of all trips.
