[A/S] Re: Roof Climbing
Many years ago, at Airstreams Ohio plant, they placed 30 (thirty)
male employees on the roof of a 30 foot trailer.
Bottom line result? NO DAMAGE.
Walking slowly on any part of the roof, especially by one person,
will not cause any damage.
However, if you step on the segments, they will cave in.
Platforms and the like are not necessary.
The factory and every dealer, always, when necessary, walks on the
roof, without any negative results.
This holds true for the very first trailers Airstream built, up to
the current models.
No one seems to know where the "you will damage the roof if you walk
on it tale" came from. But the "myth" continues on. How sad.
