Get at least a 1/2 ton truck or Suburban. With the 29' A/S you'll 
appreciate the long wheel base, even on a 100 mile trip. I have a short 
bed K1500 (4X4) that does ok, but on some roads the short wheel base 
will beat the h--- out of you. Even a bridge will make you hang on a say 
yee haw.
And as for towing in perfect conditions. We left Tampa Wednesday 
afternoon, great day. Thirty minutes into our return trip home the sky 
opened up and just poured. Visibility about 200-250 yards, then after 
about 10 minutes it lets up, and the suns shining again, About thirty 
minutes go by and again here comes the rain, rained off and on the rest 
of the way. Occasionally it got real real bad, quick. At one point of 
our return trip we sat on the interstate for 1-1.5 hours, about 50-60 
yards from an accident scene waiting on the 2 life flight's to take off 
again, the rain stopped during this time. Three hours later into what 
should have been a total of a 4 hour max drive home we where almost 
halfway when it dumped rain so quickly that the water couldn't run off 
fast enough and I was only doing 50 MPH when a rush of water was what 
looked to be 2 feet deep was right in front of me. All I could say was 
"O" my god, hang on kids. 
If I'd had a smaller tow vehicle than the Suburban 4X4 we now have or 
had flinched one way or the other we'd spun out bigger than crap. And 
this was a beautiful day when we'd left the campground. We left Tampa at 
12:00 (noon) and arrived back in Valdosta, GA at a little before 9:00 
P.M. We did stop at JD Sanders in Alachua to check out a new A/S from 
5:45-6:40 P.M.  
Anyway, bottom line is you should have enough vehicle that you feel 
comfortable with and never expect every trip to be perfect weather. Also 
even on a short trip don't go with out a weight distribution hooked up. 
I'm still working on repairing one that was on it side, it was only 
going to be moved 20 miles, but never made it.
