To do that ---

you then put your round bubble level in the center of your freezer compartment
to make sure the bubble is centered in all directions.
 
THEN you go measure your ball height on the tongue.  unhitched of course,

The hitched height will vary depending on your truck's hitch set up, suspension,
etc and then with your bars' tension.
