         I wrote that second line, referring to the fact that the 2004 
hitch had problems; nothing more.  Nowhere did I suggest that GM "owned" or 
even approved the repair that was made; in fact, I don't see any mention of 
who did the added welding, just "they."
         I agree - I would expect GM to simply replace the hitch receiver, 
not do such a repair.
