There are two different kinds of Everpure filters used in Airstreams. 
Depends on the age of the coach. The earlier version used a stainless 
steel cannister with a replacable filter in it. The newer version is a 
self contained aluminum filter that locks into a sometimes very annoying 
locking head. Some years in the 80's used a Ful Flo filter that mounted 
in the bathroom.
Both Everpure filters are carbon type filters. As others have said the 
chlorine treatment is an annual one shot deal. The filter is to catch 
those little surprises that come along on the road.
