RE: [A/S] towing with a jeep-trying again

Cathy,
I gave you examples of what I was using with my '77 31' and the '86 25'
trailers. I'm going out on a limb to give you my opinion of the vehicle I
think you should buy. Check out the Chevy Suburban 3/4 ton with the 6 litre
engine and 4.10 rear end ratio. Do not consider the 3.73 rear end because
this engine thrives on the higher rpm's. This will take care of any trailer
up to and including the 25 foot models. The engine should give you at least
17 mpg on the highway and from 10-12 mpg towing. My 8.1 gets 14.6-14.9 mpg
on the highway consistently and I have broken the 15 mpg mark twice. I get
10-11.5 towing. Yes, towing they get about the same mileage but with the
lighter 22 ft. trailers you might get more. Should you find that the 22' is
a little shorter than you want then you can go to the 25. Should you decide
that this mileage is not what you want, try one of the diesel pickups in 3/4
ton and you will not be disappointed. There you have it.
