[A/S] advice on first trip

I haven't had a chance to thank everyone individually who responded to
my request for advice for the first trip (all my free time has been
devoted to stocking the A/S and practicing hooking up & driving), but I
really appreciate the advice that was offered. I've used some of it
already in my practice tow sessions.

I am so new to this that I'm very likely to make a dumb mistake - like
today's. I was puzzled why the trailer seemed to be pushing the truck
at stop lights, and I pulled over into an empty parking lot to adjust
the controller, only to find the brake controller was dead. I had
lights and brake lights. Turned out I had not pushed the plug in far
enough at the bottom, and that was just enough not to have a connection
between truck and trailer. Won't make that mistake again! Just very
grateful nothing bad happened....
