RE: [A/S] RV Cover-- Alcoa Aluminium Coating
The problem with peeling on the new Alcoa skin is not totally solved. I know
of a 2002 Bambi LS that A/S wound up having to replace all the skin on the
roadside due to massive peeling. A/S did stand behind the product and
actually removed the interior so as to do the exterior skin replacement
using the original buck rivet technique (the failure occurred during the two
year warranty).
I watch our 2002 Bambi like a hawk as it is the sister to the Bambi that
exhibited the skin failure. The two trailers were built within days of each
other and both were an outfitted way beyond the norm with dual full sized
awnings as well as every upgrade that A/S offered (according to A/S the only
two Bambi outfitted as such). So far, the skin on our rig looks as good as
new, but it has been stored under cover all its short life.
