Teri,

It is difficult to find towing capacities for older vehicles.  I would 
suggest that you narrow your vehicle choice and they find a fan site for 
that vehicle.  The members of those sites are a great source of 
information, and quite often someone has the same vehicle you are 
considering with the owners manuals and ratings.  I find a lot of 
information on the Ford fan sites and Lincoln sites for my Lincoln and 
Dodge sites for the PowerWagon.  Dealers are useless, they just want to 
sell you a new one, but sometimes the manufacturer has a librarian who 
is helpful.
