RE: [A/S] Polishing a vintage 1965
Hello,
I have polished a 61 I had the 3M way and with Dupont 303, I attended my
first International and returned home to do it again with Rolite. I was
much happier. I then purchased the 68 and again did the 3 step Rolite
thing (all purchased from airstreamdreams.com) and was even happier.
Then last summer we held a polishing demonstration at the Region 7
Vintage Rally and I'm switching to Nuvite for my 59. Nuvite and Rolite
used side by side on a very tarnished trailer showed me that Nuvite is
easier to use and seems to provide a deeper shine. I have been a Rolite
user for 4 or 5 years now but will be changing my polish this year. I
will say that the Rolite has held up well over the years and will find
out this year if the Nuvite is just as good. I think the key is the
polish and the polisher and pads, use a good quality product(s).
Forget the 3M, too much work for a less than satisfying shine. But
remember all this polishing stuff is voodoo!
