Can you provide some additional info on the actuator that you have found for
under $120. I did significant research into the subject about a year ago
and there was nothing that inexpensive. Were you just talking about the
brake controller mounted in the car or the entire system including the unit
that hydraulic actuator that mounts in the trailer. The ElecDraulic unit
that MasterBrake manufacturers and sells can also be mounted inside the
trailer, but the cost is much higher. The ElecDraulic/BrakeSmart combo do
not rely or use "G" force sensors but rather use the BrakeSmart's direct
measurement of the hydraulic pressure at the tow vehicle master cylinder (a
commercial, high reliability solid state transducer). I did find a couple
of other designs and manufacturers, but concluded that MasterBrake's
products were the Cadillac of the crowd.
