Patti -sounds like a great truck package.

Since you are asking....I'll give you my thoughts on bed caps.  (it's a 
topic as personal as hitches....I'm sure....)

If youi've not driven with a cap before - keep this in mind  as you shop.

If the new truck has privacy glass in it - I'd be very choosey about the 
tint on the windows of the cap.  Be sure you "see" for yourself what it 
looks like before you buy and install permanently.

Some folks love the gangster glass...and the security it brings from 
lookee-loos.  That is a plus.

Then some people (like me) can't see for **** through the gangster glass.  
I had to take it out of my Tundra - as when I went to do quick lane changes 
on the freeway - and looked over my shoulder - I'd see reflections on the 
inside of the privacy glass - and the reflections were from "inside" my 
truck...not outside. I"ve had the same problem with Suburbans and 
Excursions too.

It's "my" eyes and "my" brain.  

With the cap - you will be looking through "two" sets of glass - when you 
look rearward through the inside rearview mirror etc - as you can imagine.  
Make sure the tint on the cap does not "doubly" reduce your rear vision 
when looking through the rear window - and inside rearview mirror.

On the other hand - some people seem to handle it just fine - or they may 
just use their outside rearview mirrors only - regardless of whether hooked 
up to their trailer or not.

Odd thing for me - I drove our farm trucks for years - using the outside 
mirrors only - the rear windows were totally blocked by the grain tanks - 
and I had no problem.  Probably today -still no problem since those outside 
mirrors are monster sized.

Anyway - just one more thing to consider!

 I just bought a Honda Pilot and love it.  But I had to wait for a month to 
get what I wanted...as the dealerships usually only order the upperline 
models - which come standard with privacy glass. 

The base model I got has all the safety features and power features - but 
comes with standard tint glass.  I saved thousands - and love it - and my 
"quick view" visibility...!

I can't understand how so many people in the dark-winter Northwest...love 
their super dark privacy glass - especially those with "extra" tint...in 
windows that I really don't think are legal...  I had to chuckle at one 
person I saw on a dark and dirty rainy night....driving with his super 
tinted windows....but he had to have them down....so he could see.  
Ironic...

On the other hand - I can understand how the southern sunny climates really 
like them.
