Hey thanks Rick!  I called the OnStar number and the guy confirmed that I DO 
have the latest analog/digital system.  He looked up my account and said 
that since I have the latest version 6 digital software, I have the newest 
analog/digital hardware system.  YIPPEE!

I guess I lucked out because apparently only a relative few 2004 GM vehicles 
were so equipped.  For the record, my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD DuraMax was 
built in May, 2004.  I don't know if that means a Chevy Silverado built at 
the same time or later also has the newest analog/digital system, but it 
probably does.  I'm sure they're built on the same assembly line.
