I put a Lock-Right differential in my Dodge-Cummins 2wd, they are not
expensive and in that muddy situation you have the two wheels loaded with
the trailer weight driving whereas the 4X4 guys have one front wheel and one
rear wheel spinning because of the differentials unless they have also
installed a locking rear end. You get the ride, maintenence and fuel economy
advantages of 2wd. The Lock-Right does twitch just a bit sometimes (not
always) as you go on and off the gas at highway speeds when it loads  and
unloads as it is a solid gear rather than clutch system, but you quickly get
used to it. The best of both worlds IMHO.
