Rick,
Yes, you are correct about the manual button providing a proportional
braking based on the amount of movement on the button or lever.  Trying to
replicate this with a remote switch of some kind would be problematic, but
still technically doable.  I don't see it as a easy DIY project, although
the Jordon unit being a mechanically activated system could lend itself to a
creative bit of DIY engineering.  The BrakeSmart unit could also lend itself
to sophisticated DIY engineering, but would involve designing a circuit that
would substitute the pressure transducer signal with a remote input that
would mimic the transducer.  The circuit would need to monitor both the
remote and the transducer and always give priority to the transducer.  Again
doable, but not easy.
