[A/S] Insurance for my Airstream PLEASE HELP!!!
Good afternoon and greetings from vabeachnuts , I have a question I hope I
can get some feedback on. I purchased a 1973 31' airstream in GREAT condition. I
only paid $1000.00 for it.It was hard to believe the shape it was in. It has
every option Airstream offered back then. It even came with the owners Manuel.
We did replace a few things. ( ac,stove, fridg, waterheater) we also replaced
the carpet ,bedding, and fabric on the furniture. The awning, generator, ect
all are in very good shape. I would say we probably put about an extra $4000.00
to $5000.00 in it plus lots of elbow grease. We want to insure it for at least
$6000.00 or so but my insurance company said we can only insure it for what
it's worth. I just got my tax bill from the city and they say it's value is
$200.00. We only have to pay $2.00 tax on it. That part is great, but what happens
if it were destroyed by fire of storm ect.? Sounds like I could only get
$200.00 for it. Has anybody tried to insure their vintage Airstream and am I going
in the right direction with this? Would love some feedback on this. Thanks,
Vabeachnuts ( Tom & Bev)
