[A/S] Value of 30 pound aluminum propane tanks
Hello,
I have replaced my original 1971 aluminum propane tanks with 40 pound
1972 aluminum Worthington tanks (which I had polished).
I think that I am going to put the 30 pound tanks for sale but I am
not sure how much to ask for them. I know that the 40 pound cost me a
bunch to get recertified and polished and I think that new 30 pound
tanks are expensive.
Can anyone help to tell me how much I could get for these and if
selling them "online" is a good option. Or should I keep these as
spares as they were the original tanks for my trailer. I had them
recertified in 2001 at the same time as the 40 pound tanks but I did
not get them polished.
Just a hint on this tank polishing...I had a propane company that
handles and services forklift tanks polish my tanks. What they
ussually do is wait until they have a bunch of forklift propane tanks
ready to be polished and them send them all at the same time. I had
my tanks sent out at the same time and they came back recertified and
brightly polished. This was a very good option and I think that the
polishing was only about $40.00 per tank. Maybe this seams expensive
but it would have taken me many hours to polish them to the same look.
Best regards,
Kelvin
