Hey Joan, The AC (air conditioner)isn't the problem. Yes, there is 
low voltage in the AC, however it is taken from the 120 volts inside 
the AC. Next time the fuse blows make a note of what goes out. There 
is a short somewhere and most likely it's the fan the previous owner 
installed. Trace the fan wires to their origin and disconnect. If 
that doesn't work, find a person that is handy with a meter, and 
check all the circuts that went out. Really shouldn't be a big job. 
For your own safety do not use larger fuses than recommended. AL
