RE: [A/S] Questions on 1979 propane tanks

Hi List,
I just looked up the list of states that require OPD's. You can find this
info at:
http://www.npga.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=535 I was surprised that
less than half the states required the POD'S the last time I counted them
up. I did not do that in this January 14, 2004 publication, but noticed
several states on the front end of the first page I saw when I checked the
address for the list.

There is still no requirement for OPD's on the 40 pound Horizontal tanks
used on some Airstreams - my 1998 Limited 34' FK has them. You are directed
to apply a clearly readable notice stating there is "NO OPD" on the tank,
and the statement as to where the official exemption is located in the
standards book. This data was published in the Blue Beret some time back. I
just made copies of the page and tapped it to each of my tanks with wide
clear tape. I have never had trouble getting my tanks filled anywhere in the
US or Canada sense the rule went into effect in April of 2002.
