Re: [A/S] Sway and traffic laws

To bring some higher math into the equation (sorry for the pun), the worst
sway I had was the time I ran into increasing harmonic vibrations (ok, it
was a second order non linear differential equation solution) where the
trailer would start to sway, and increase the amount of sway progressively
until the back of the tow vehicle was moving roughly four to six feet.
Slowing down reduced the sway amount and frequency.

However, it makes sense to a certain extent. The combination of vehicle,
hitch, and trailer probably do vibrate, or at least resonate, at a certain
frequency; and that frequency would rise in proportion to the speed at which
the combination was moving across the road (as well as wind moving over the
vehicles, the condition of the road, turns on the road, etc).

It also explains why the Hensley in particular works so well against sway;
as the springs act to absorb the resultant torsion of the "desire to twist".

Y'all can drive whatever speed you want, but I'm sticking with 55,
especially here in CA. Not because I can't, or don't, want to go faster; but
because I want as much space and reaction time as possible available to me
as a protection against the other guy. And I run into "the other guy" rather
frequently...
