What I was trying to do was to bring some scientific/engineering opinion to
the discussion. I have lots of experience driving a car in normal
conditions, some additional experience driving in winter conditions and very
limited (50 hrs) driving with a 30 A/S  behind. What I suggested is a theory
that says that when you feel the trailer start to fish-tail, slam the
accelerator down, steer where you want to go and then when straightened out,
use the brake/trailer brake. On my car the trailer brake is set to apply an
instant before the car brakes. It does straighten out an emergency stop as
I've had to stop to avoid hitting a amber to red switching light. Stopped
dead straight and I could feel the trailer tires grab before the car tires
grabbed.
What I wanted to check is if there is a flaw or an extra fly in my theory.

PS As far as suiting speed to lash-up, I think it's a great idea if
enforced. The Ontario Provincial Police have an annual trailer safety spot
check on the first long weekend of the summer and pull people off the road
who do not have safe lashups and trailer brakes.
