[A/S] Re: Airstream or less-expensive others?

I think one of the best features of an Airstream is the aluminum
frame wall construction. Also aluminum skin on the interior. It is
possible for the shell to leak, but it won't rot anything out like in
a wood framed trailer.

A body leak could cause eventual rotting of the subfloor or cabinets
in a particular area, but none of the catastrophic damage that can
result in a conventional trailer.

High end appliances and fixtures. A lot of equipment that would be
considered optional on other brands is standard with Airstream, and
that might mean some savings.

Personally, I think the Bambi is rather small for the price you pay.
I'd check the towing capacity of your Jeep in the owner's manual and
consider getting a larger Safari model.

You might also want to consider buying an older Airstream since there
are a lot of well maintained ones out there. 70's models are also
lighter weight. My 31' 1979 weighs in at around 5500 empty, and max
loading is 7100. Relativly light weight by today's standards,
considering the size.
