Re: [A/S] swaying of 19' Bambi



For those who get into this situation, the recommended
procedure is to manually apply the trailer brakes
while accelerating the tow vehicle.  The pull from
each vehicle is supposed to dampen the sway.  Never
has happend to me, but when these things happen you
need to react quickly.  That's why airline pilots
practice emergency procedures in a simulator.  When
something happens their training allows them to react
with minimal thought.  Most of us are still trying to
analyze the problem.

Sounds like this may be a situation of too little
hitch weight cause by poor setup or trunion bars which
are oversized.  If it was a Reese dual-cam, too little
hitch weight can minimize the effectiveness of the
sway control.
